66,000 hires in the Valencian Community for the summer campaign

Randstadhas carried out an analysis of the hiring forecasts for the 2018 summer campaign, as well as their evolution over the last eight years. The human resources consultancy predicts that this year's summer campaign will reach 66,000 hires in the Valencian Community, registering a new record. Specifically, during the months of June, July, August and September, Randstad expects that 66,680 contracts will be signed in the region in the commerce, hospitality, transportation and entertainment sectors, which represents an increase of 11.5% compared to the year previous and 91.2% more than the figure recorded in 2010 (34,870).

This good figure, however, does not hide that the Valencian Community will be one where the increase in employment will be more limited, below the national average. At the national level, Randstad also expects this year's summer campaign to set a new hiring record, surpassing 620,000 hires during the months of June, July and August. Specifically, the forecasts they manage estimate that 619,110 will be signed, which represents an increase of 12% compared to the previous year and almost double (94.5%) than the figure recorded in 2010.

In absolute terms, Andalusia is the autonomous community that registers the most hires, with 126,620. Catalunya and Comunitat Valenciana complete the podium, with 88,345 and 66,680, respectively, while Madrid reaches fourth place with 64,660 contracts. These four regions accumulate more than 55.9% of the total incorporations that will be made at the national level.

Temporary hiring, a bridge to permanent hiring
Hiring at this time of year is mainly motivated by various sectors linked to tourism, such as commerce, transportation, hospitality, and leisure and entertainment.
